Dr. Valerie Joiner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience in trauma, substance use, and mental health therapy. She received her Master’s and Doctorate in Social Work degrees from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA.
She is currently employed with the Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System. Dr. Joiner owns Magnolia Bloom Counseling, a private practice counseling center in Biloxi, MS. She is also an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work.
She has trained extensively and conducted research on trauma-informed care for youth, which has been published. Dr. Joiner enjoys working with children of all ages and has dedicated most of her career to empowering and educating women, with a particular focus on young girls.
