Sabrina is a native of Moss Point, Mississippi, and resides in Theodore, Alabama. She is a 1987 Honor Graduate of Moss Point High School in Mississippi. Sabrina received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Minor in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in March 1994. Sabrina received a Master’s of Business Administration from William Carey University in August 2008 and an honorary doctorate from McFormalsdale Christian University in September 2021.
Sabrina was hired by Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS, in 1998. Over the last 23 years, Sabrina has held numerous positions with Ingalls Shipbuilding. Currently, she is the Manager for In-House Subcontracts, where she serves as the liaison between project management, planning, project team, and line management, and Manager of Supplier Back Charges where she obtained and managed the reimbursement for the cost incurred by Ingalls Shipbuilding in handling, processing, and/or reworking deficient material, hardware and software, required under all periods of the prime contract, including warranty/guarantee in Supply Chain Management at Ingalls Shipbuilding.
During her 24-year employment with Ingalls Shipbuilding, Sabrina has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. She has been energetically engaged in the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) of Ingalls, taking on increasing responsibility roles. She became involved with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) as secretary, which later became known as Shipbuilding Women Engineers. She was Vice President and later President of the African American Shipbuilder Association (AASA). She is a member of the Women in Shipbuilding Enterprise (WISE) and the Asian Pacific Islander Shipbuilding Association (APSA). Each of the organizations are actively involved in stimulating the minds of young people through STEM related programs and activities. Sabrina also holds a license with the E-sports Amateur Competitors’ League (EACL), an organization designed to help raise money for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) through our social gaming league.
Sabrina’s most distinguishing trait is her unwavering dedication to her community. Her motivation to inspire young people stems from her training in ministry and her service to her local church, New Covenant Community Ministries, International in Moss Point, MS. She has been a faithful member of the congregation since 2001 and serves in the music ministry, Keepers of the Sound, the dance ministry, House of Praise, and the Daughters of Faith women’s ministry, collecting diapers, shoes, food for women’s shelters and food banks and supplies for those devastated by hurricanes. Sabrina’s outside interests include being a Gospel Recording Artist who enjoys reading, singing, liturgical dance, spending time with family, international travel, and sharing in the care of her ninety-six-year-old grandmother.
